Associated Equipment Alternator and Starter Specialty Bench Tester with a 1 HP drive motor is THE tester for heavy-duty alternator and starter work, testing all 12V and 24V starters, as well as heavier-duty, higher-output commercial alternators, both internally- and externally-regulated. This all-digital bench tester is designed with both the operator and customer in mind, with a compact and user-friendly design that takes up little work space (14" x 27" x 17"). No battery is required for testing, as the tester gives results from free-run starter and light-load alternator tests, and the unit's high-resolution, digital control-panel meter is more accurate and easier to read than an analog meter, with both the voltmeter (0-32V DC) and ammeter (0-999A) having easy-to-read, digital LED displays. The tester provides 300 amps of starter-testing current, and the regulated power supply is overload-protected. This unit also includes a safety interlock that prohibits testing unless the belt-guard is in place, double-tension springs that prevent belt slippage, and an oversized, cast-aluminum vice for easy mounting of a starter or alternator. The tester features four indicator lights (Alternator, Trio, Diode, and Stator) for easier diagnosis, and a basic, universal test lead is included, though the use of another test lead (models 8514-8519) is suggested to make hooking up to alternators easier. This made-in-the-USA product has a limited manufacturer warranty of 1 year and comes with 300-amp clamps and 4' DC leads (6 AWG), measuring 21" H x 30" W x 17" D overall.
